Dave Shaw joined SFP Wealth in April 2026 as a Relationship Manager, specializing in retirement plan advisory services. He brings over 20 years of experience in the retirement and employee benefits industry, with deep expertise in client relationship management, fiduciary governance, and retirement plan strategy.
Dave began his career with UNUM in New York City, where he held senior roles before relocating to Boston. He went on to serve in senior positions with both NFP and HUB International, partnering with organizations of all sizes, including private equity–backed portfolio companies, to deliver tailored retirement plan solutions designed to improve outcomes for both plan sponsors and participants.
In his current role, Dave serves as a lead advisor to plan sponsors and committees, overseeing all aspects of the client relationship. His work includes plan benchmarking and fee analysis, investment due diligence, fiduciary support, employee education, and the development of customized retirement plan strategies. He is particularly focused on helping plan sponsors reduce fiduciary risk, optimize plan design, and enhance participant engagement. Dave also plays a key role in plan conversions and implementations, guiding clients through complex transitions with a disciplined and efficient approach. He also brings experience supporting organizations with cross-border considerations.
Dave is passionate about building long-term relationships grounded in trust, transparency, and measurable results. He is committed to helping plan sponsors strengthen their retirement programs while empowering employees to achieve better financial outcomes.
Dave earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management, from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. He currently holds his Series 6 securities registration.
He resides in Winchester, Massachusetts with his wife, three children, and their two dogs. Dave is actively involved in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for both the Winchester Basketball Association and Sachem Youth Football. A dedicated coach, he works with the Middlesex Magic AAU basketball program and coaches youth basketball and football. Outside of work, Dave enjoys staying active, playing basketball, grilling and cooking, and spending time with family and friends—especially during the summer months by the pool or at the beach. Above all, he enjoys watching his kids compete and stays closely involved in their athletic pursuits
